The Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is the official currency of Jordan and has been in circulation since 1950, replacing the Palestinian pound. Managed by the Central Bank of Jordan, the dinar is pegged to the US dollar, providing stability for Jordan’s economy. It is one of the strongest currencies in the Middle East, used both locally and in parts of the West Bank. The JOD is available in both coins and banknotes, and its high value compared to neighboring currencies makes it a key part of Jordan’s trade and financial sector.
