Comoros The Comorian Franc (KMF) is the official currency of Comoros, an island nation located off the coast of East Africa. It has been in circulation since the country gained independence from France in 1975. The KMF is pegged to the Euro (EUR) at a fixed exchange rate, ensuring some level of monetary stability. The currency is issued and regulated by the Central Bank of Comoros. The Comorian economy is heavily reliant on agriculture, fishing, and remittances from abroad, and the fixed peg to the Euro helps mitigate exchange rate volatility. However, economic challenges such as high unemployment and limited industrialization remain.
