The Polish Zloty (PLN) is the official currency of Poland, issued by the National Bank of Poland. It was introduced in its modern form in 1995, replacing the old zloty at a rate of 10,000 PLZ = 1 PLN as part of economic reforms. The zloty is a free-floating currency, with its value influenced by Poland’s strong industrial sector, EU trade partnerships, and economic stability. The currency is subdivided into 100 groszy, with banknotes ranging from PLN 10 to PLN 500 and coins from 1 grosz to PLN 5. While Poland is a European Union (EU) member, it has not adopted the Euro (EUR) and continues to use the zloty.
