The São Toméan Dobra (STN) is the official currency of São Tomé and Príncipe, issued by the Central Bank of São Tomé and Príncipe. In 2018, a currency redenomination took place, with 1 new dobra (STN) replacing 1,000 old dobras (STD) to simplify transactions. The dobra is a free-floating currency, with its exchange rate influenced by cocoa exports, foreign aid, and tourism, which are the key economic drivers of the island nation. The dobra is subdivided into 100 cêntimos, and banknotes are available in denominations from STN 5 to STN 200, while coins range from STN 0.10 to STN 2.
