Traveling overseas can be a daunting experience, but there are a few things you can do to make the process go more smoothly.

One of the most important things to remember is to always have some cash on hand. You never know when you’ll need it- for example, if you’re taking a taxi and the driver doesn’t accept cards, or if you’re shopping at a market and the only form of payment accepted is cash.

In these cases, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

With your amaze card and Instarem app, you will have the ability to withdraw cash from the nearest ATM at your destination.

Simple steps to withdraw money abroad with Instarem’s amaze

It’s easy – all you need to do is:

  1. Link your amaze card to your amaze wallet as your funding source, on the Instarem app.
  2. Make sure you have enough money in your amaze wallet to cover the withdrawal you want to make, including the fees that may incur.
  3. Withdraw cash at any ATM in the world that displays the Mastercard®, Maestro® or Cirrus® logo.

Finding an ATM near you

You can use the Mastercard ATM locator and key in your location or address. It’ll show you a list of all the compatible ATMs near your current location.

Cash withdrawal limits, amounts and fees

Here’s a quick rundown of the fees you may pay for withdrawing money overseas with your amaze card:

  • ATM owner fee: This is the fee that the bank or card issuer charges for using their ATM overseas. This is typically displayed on the ATM before you make a withdrawal.

  • Dynamic currency conversion fee: This is a fee that’s charged if you withdraw money, not in the local (destination) currency.

  • Instarem fee: This is a fee that’s charged by Instarem for using amaze card for overseas cash withdrawal. amaze charges a fee of 2% of the value of the amount withdrawn. PS: From now till 31st December 2024, withdraw cash abroad with your amaze card, fee-free.

If you don’t want to pay the extra fee, it’s best to choose the local currency when making a withdrawal.

Example: Choose Malaysia Ringgit in Malaysia

And don’t forget that there’s a daily limit of SGD 1,000 per day for withdrawals with your amaze card*.

And that’s all there is to it! Withdrawing money from an ATM overseas with Instarem’s amaze card is a quick and easy way to get your hands on local currency when you’re abroad. Just keep in mind the limits and fees, and you’ll be fine. Happy travels!
