Meet the New amaze: Best Rates, More Rewards, Ultimate Convenience — No Trade-Offs
This article covers:
amaze now gives you more ways to spend and earn rewards. Enjoy competitive FX rates and low fees: no hefty bank markups, no hidden fees, whether you’re spending from your wallet or a linked card. Earn InstaPoints with amaze Wallet and turn them into cashback, KrisFlyer miles, or a transfer discount, whichever you prefer. And you can top up your wallet or link amaze to a Mastercard, so you’re never juggling multiple cards for different kinds of spend. Referrals now pay a flat SGD 25 to both sides, and cashback is back on the table.
Most FX cards make you choose: use a low-fee wallet and give up the bank card you already use everywhere else, or keep your usual card and pay the FX markup on every overseas purchase. The new amaze experience is built to close that gap. One card that gives you competitive rates wherever you spend, a rewards system that’s actually worth using, and the option to top up your amaze wallet or link your own Mastercard without needing two separate products.
Here’s exactly what’s different.
At a glance
- Best rates: Competitive FX and low fees across amaze, no hefty bank markups, no hidden fees, whether you’re on amaze Wallet (0% FX on foreign spend) or amaze Link (a lower FX spread than most banks charge on the same card)
- More rewards: Earn InstaPoints with amaze Wallet (0.5 points per SGD 1 spent, domestic or foreign currency) and turn them into cashback, KrisFlyer miles, or a transfer discount, your choice
- Ultimate convenience: Top up your wallet or link amaze to a Mastercard, right in the same app, so you’re never juggling multiple cards depending on where you’re spending
- Better referral rewards: Flat SGD 25 (2,000 InstaPoints) to both the referrer and referee, regardless of which Instarem product either of you uses
- Worth knowing: amaze Link doesn’t earn InstaPoints, and it doesn’t add rewards on top of your linked bank card either. You simply keep whatever that card already pays out. InstaPoints are earned on amaze Wallet spend.
No more picking one or the other
Travellers have always had to choose: a low-fee card for FX, or the card you already use everywhere else for the rewards it earns. amaze closes that gap. You get competitive rates whether you’re spending from the wallet or a linked card, real InstaPoints when you use the wallet, and the freedom to switch between the two per transaction instead of committing to one. Linking your bank card through amaze Link doesn’t add any rewards on top of what that card already pays you; but it lets you keep using your current card and spend without topping up.
Best rates: competitive FX, no hidden markups
Top up via PayNow, Apple Pay or linked bank account – and spend in foreign currency through amaze Wallet, and you pay 0% FX: no markup, no admin fee, and nothing on domestic SGD spend either.
Prefer to spend directly on a card you already have? Link up to 5 Mastercards through amaze Link and get amaze’s competitive FX spread on that transaction too, typically up to 2.1%, against the up-to-3.5% spread many banks charge on the same card (domestic SGD spend through a linked card carries a flat 1% fee).
Disclaimer: Bank card FX spread comparison based on a review of published foreign transaction fee rates from major Singapore retail banks as of September 2026. Actual rates vary by bank, card type, and currency; amaze’s FX spread may also vary by currency and is subject to change.
Wallet or Link, the FX handling is built to beat what you’d pay directly through your bank.

More rewards: InstaPoints via amaze Wallet, redeemed your way
Every dollar you spend through amaze Wallet earns 0.5 InstaPoints per SGD 1 (domestic or foreign currency, it all counts), and every money transfer adds 10 InstaPoints per SGD 100 sent overseas, all building toward one InstaPoints balance you control.
Turn those points into:
- Cashback straight to your wallet (1,000 points = SGD 5, or 2,000 points = SGD 25 redeemable once a month),
- KrisFlyer miles (3 InstaPoints = 1 KrisFlyer mile, redeem minimum 1,200 points for 400 miles, no monthly cap),
- or a discount on your next transfer (2,000 points = SGD 25 off transfers over SGD 1,000, or 400 points = SGD 5 off any transfer).
Spending on a linked card through amaze Link instead? You keep whatever rewards that card already gives you and spend without topping up. amaze Wallet is where the InstaPoints build up.
Ultimate convenience: one app, no juggling
No more carrying a separate low-FX card for travel and your regular card for everything else. amaze does both from the same app: top up the wallet when you want 0% FX and InstaPoints, and hold and spend in up to 11 currencies while you’re at it. Or link a Mastercard when you’d rather spend directly against a card you already have, no wallet balance to manage.
Auto Top-up rounds this out on the Wallet side: set a threshold and a top-up amount once, and the wallet refills itself before it runs dry, so an overseas purchase never gets declined mid-trip because you forgot to reload. This also matters if you withdraw cash abroad. See how amaze’s ATM fees and limits work.
New referral rewards
Refer a friend now, and you both get exactly 2,000 InstaPoints (worth SGD 25) once your friend completes a qualifying transaction, regardless of whether either of you is on amaze, money transfers, or both. One invite screen, one number, tracked through a single activity list.
One InstaPoints balance
Wallet spend and money transfers used to feed separate pots. Now they build one InstaPoints balance, shown in both SGD-equivalent and points, with a breakdown by source if you want to see how you earned it. Every InstaPoint counts the same, however you earned it, through amaze Wallet spend or money transfers.
What’s new: Cashback returns, plus a two-tier transfer discount
Cashback redemption is back after being off the table for a while: SGD 5 for 1,000 points, or SGD 25 for 2,000 points, capped at one redemption per calendar month for the SGD 25 tier. KrisFlyer miles conversion continues unchanged and uncapped monthly.
And the transfer discount now comes in two tiers (SGD 25 off transfers over SGD 1,000, or SGD 5 off any transfer), useful even for people who don’t have an amaze card at all.
If you’re deciding whether to get amaze now
If you already have an amaze card, this update mostly changes what you do with InstaPoints: redeem for cashback, miles, or a transfer discount instead of just miles.
If you’re a money-transfer user without an amaze card, applying for one unlocks cashback and KrisFlyer redemption on top of the transfer discount you already had. Either way, amaze Link is your convenience and rate-savings play, and amaze Wallet is where the rewards live.
Bottom line
amaze still runs on the same card you already have; it just works harder now. Competitive rates whether you’re spending from the wallet or a linked Mastercard, real rewards every time you use amaze Wallet, and the freedom to top up or link depending on what you’re spending on.
Note: New features available on the latest Instarem app (v3.18.3 onwards).
