BSD - Bahamian Dollar currency

Bahamas flag Bahamas

The Bahamian Dollar (BSD) is the official currency of The Bahamas, issued by the Central Bank of The Bahamas. It is pegged to the U.S. Dollar (USD) at a 1:1 exchange rate, and both currencies circulate freely within the country. The Bahamian Dollar was introduced in 1966, replacing the Bahamian Pound. The currency is subdivided into 100 cents, with banknotes ranging from $1 to $100 and coins from 1 cent to $1. Due to The Bahamas' reliance on tourism and offshore finance, the peg to the USD provides economic stability and ease of trade, particularly with the United States, its largest trading partner.
