InstaPoints Are Back to Cashback — Plus Miles and Transfer Discounts
This article covers:
amaze has relaunched InstaPoints redemption with a great cashback option: redeem 1,000 InstaPoints for 5 SGD cashback as often as you like, or 2,000 InstaPoints for 25 SGD cashback once per calendar month. You can also redeem InstaPoints for KrisFlyer miles at 3 points = 1 KrisFlyer mile, or use the points for transfer discounts — 25 SGD off transfers over 1,000 SGD or 5 SGD off any transfer. This redemption relaunch is part of amaze’s wider update — see Meet the New amaze for everything that’s changed.
Cashback redemption disappeared for a while — replaced by a miles-only system that a lot of users felt was a step down. It’s back now, in a genuinely improved form: two flexible cashback tiers, and a transfer discount option that didn’t exist before, all drawing from one unified balance.
If you’ve been sitting on InstaPoints wondering what they’re actually worth, here’s the complete picture of what changed and what each option gets you.
The short version
- What’s new: cashback redemption is back, and there’s a new transfer discount option
- Cashback tiers: SGD 5 for 1,000 points, or SGD 25 for 2,000 points. The SGD 25 cashback redemption is limited to once per month. The SGD 5 cashback redemption has no limit.
- KrisFlyer miles: unchanged — 3 InstaPoints = 1 KrisFlyer mile, minimum 1,200-point conversion, instant, no monthly cap
- Transfer discount: SGD 25 off transfers over SGD 1,000 (redeem 2,000 points), or SGD 5 off any transfer (redeem 400 points)
Why cashback is back
The prior miles-only system was, by most accounts, not suited to anyone who didn’t fly Singapore Airlines or hold a KrisFlyer account — InstaPoints with only one redemption path aren’t very useful if it doesn’t fit your lifestyle. Cashback has been reintroduced specifically to fix that: money back into your amaze wallet, no flying required, at a rate that’s straightforward to calculate.
The two cashback tiers — one redemption a month
Entry tier: redeem 1,000 InstaPoints for SGD 5.
Standard tier: redeem 2,000 InstaPoints for SGD 25.
The rule to know: cashback redemption is capped at once per calendar month for the higher value SGD 25 tier. You can redeem SGD 5 cashback any number of times. Cashback lands directly in your amaze wallet balance, ready to spend immediately — this is a Singapore-only feature and requires an active amaze card.
KrisFlyer miles: unchanged, and uncapped monthly
If you’d rather keep building toward flights, the miles conversion hasn’t changed: 3 InstaPoints to 1 KrisFlyer mile, minimum 1,200-point conversion for 400 KrisFlyer miles, credited instantly once you enter your KrisFlyer membership details. Unlike cashback, miles conversion has no monthly cap — convert as often as your balance allows, which makes it the better outlet if you’re chasing travel miles.
New: a transfer discount, in two tiers
If you send money internationally through Instarem, InstaPoints can now give you a discount two ways: 2,000 points for a SGD 25 discount on transfers over SGD 1,000, or 400 points for a smaller, more flexible SGD 5 discount usable on any transfer size. This is the redemption path available even if you don’t hold an amaze card, making InstaPoints valuable to Instarem’s money transfer users too, not just amaze cardholders.
Everything now comes from one balance
The bigger structural change is what feeds these three options: instead of separate pools for wallet-spend, transfers, and referral InstaPoints, there’s one balance shown in both SGD-equivalent and points, with a breakdown available by source if you want to see where it came from. Every InstaPoint — however you earned it — can go toward any of the three redemption paths. Referring friends is one of the easiest ways to build this balance up — see how the amaze referral program works.

If you don’t have an amaze card yet
Cashback and KrisFlyer miles redemption specifically require an active amaze card — money transfer users see those two tabs in a locked state with a prompt to activate amaze, while the transfer discount remains fully available either way. For the full breakdown of amaze Wallet vs amaze Link, see the amaze Link vs amaze Wallet guide. If you’re a money transfer user weighing whether to get an amaze card, unlocking cashback and miles redemption is a concrete, quantifiable reason to do it.
Bottom line
Cashback is a genuine improvement over the miles-only system it replaces – giving every InstaPoints holder a simple redemption option to their amaze wallet, as well as uncapped miles for KrisFlyer loyalists, and a transfer discount extending value to money transfer users who don’t have an amaze card. One balance, three real choices!
