The amaze Referral Program, Explained: How to get 25 SGD for each party
This article covers:
Referring a friend to Instarem now pays a flat 2,000 InstaPoints (25 SGD) to both you and your friend, regardless of whether you use Instarem money transfers or amaze — replacing the previous system where the reward varied depending on which product was involved. This is part of amaze’s broader relaunch — see Meet the New amaze for the full picture. Rewards post once your friend completes a qualifying transaction, and you can track each referral’s status.
If you’ve ever tried explaining the amaze referral program to a friend and gotten stuck on “well, it depends which product you sign up through”, that problem is now fixed. The reward is one flat number, both sides.
Here’s exactly how it works, what counts as a qualifying transaction, and how to track your referrals without digging through account settings.
The short version
- The reward: 2,000 InstaPoints (SGD 25) to you, 2,000 InstaPoints (SGD 25) to your friend
- Works regardless of product: applies whether either of you signs up and uses amaze or money transfer service
- Qualifying activity: your friend needs to complete a transaction (money transfer ≥ 1,000 SGD, or amaze spend ≥ 100 SGD in total)
- Tracking: a single referral activity list shows each invite as Pending or Completed
- Where it goes: straight into your unified InstaPoints balance, redeemable as cashback, KrisFlyer miles, or a transfer discount

How the referral system has changed
Previously, the referral reward varied depending on which product your referred friend signed up through — amaze or Remittance. Now it’s simple: one flat reward, both sides, no matter which product either of you uses. That means you can share your referral link with confidence, knowing exactly what you and your friend will get before they even sign up.
How to refer someone
A referral banner appears on your amaze home screen and profile page, both leading to the same invite screen. It states the flat reward for both sides clearly (“You get 2,000 Referral Points / SGD 25”, “They get 2,000 Referral Points / SGD 25”) and gives you a shareable link through standard channels — text, WhatsApp, email, whatever you’d normally use.
What counts as a qualifying transaction
Your friend needs to actually use the product, not just sign up, for either of you to get rewarded. Specifically: a remittance transfer of at least SGD 1,000, or total amaze card spend of at least SGD 100. If they haven’t done either within about 7 days of signing up, you’ll both get a reminder nudge — them a prompt to complete a qualifying transaction, you a note that your friend joined but hasn’t transacted yet.
Tracking your referrals
A single referral activity list shows every friend you’ve invited, each marked Pending or Completed, with email addresses masked for privacy (first three characters plus asterisks and the domain). You don’t need to ask friends whether their reward has posted — the status is visible from your own account.
Where the reward actually lands
Both the referrer’s and referee’s 2,000 InstaPoints post to their unified InstaPoints balance — the same balance amaze Wallet spend and remittance activity feed into. From there, it’s redeemable exactly like any other InstaPoints: as amaze cashback direct to your amaze Wallet (SGD 5 for 1,000 points, or SGD 25 for 2,000 points, once a calendar month), KrisFlyer miles (3 points = 1 mile, minimum 1,200), or a transfer discount (SGD 25 off transfers over SGD 1,000, or SGD 5 off any transfer). For the full detail on how each redemption option works, see the InstaPoints redemption guide.
Why 2,000 InstaPoints is worth more than it sounds
On its own, 2,000 InstaPoints converts straight to SGD 25 cashback — but it’s flexible beyond that single number. Redeem it for over 660 KrisFlyer miles instead if you’re building toward a Singapore Airlines redemption, or apply it as a SGD 25 discount on your next transfer over SGD 1,000 if remittance is more your use case. Refer three friends in a month and you’ve got 6,000 InstaPoints to work with across any combination of these — more than enough to combine with your own amaze Wallet spend and hit a meaningful cashback or miles redemption in the same month.
It works whichever way you use amaze
The referral reward doesn’t care whether you’re an amaze Link user (keeping your existing bank card’s rewards) or an amaze Wallet user (earning InstaPoints on foreign-currency spend) — 2,000 InstaPoints post to your account either way once your friend transacts. See the full amaze Link vs amaze Wallet breakdown for how each experience works. If you’re an amaze Link user without an amaze Wallet balance built up yet, a single successful referral is an easy way to get your InstaPoints balance started.
If you’re deciding whether to get amaze now
If you already have an amaze card, this update mostly changes what you do with InstaPoints: redeem for cashback, miles, or a transfer discount instead of just miles.
If you’re a money-transfer user without an amaze card, applying for one unlocks cashback and KrisFlyer redemption on top of the transfer discount you already had. Either way, amaze Link is your convenience and rate-savings play, and amaze Wallet is where the rewards live.
Bottom line
The new referral program is genuinely simpler to explain and to trust: SGD 25 to you, SGD 25 to your friend, no matter which Instarem product either of you is on, and the flexibility to redeem it as cashback, miles, or a transfer discount depending on what you actually want. If you’ve been holding off recommending amaze to friends because you weren’t sure what either side would actually get, that uncertainty is gone — and referring a friend is one of the easiest ways to build up a meaningful InstaPoints balance.
