    What is the amaze card and how does it work?

    The amaze card is both a virtual and physical card that can combine up to 5 debit or credit cards. This eliminates the need for you to carry multiple cards. You can choose a specific card from your app to transact with any time.

    How do I apply for the amaze card?

    You can apply for an amaze card via the Instarem app. You'll need to have a registered and approved Instarem account to get the amaze card.

    How do I activate my physical amaze card?

    Once you have received your physical card via mail, you can activate it through the amaze app.

    • Access the amaze page either via the card symbol on the bottom right or via the dashboard.
    • Tap on Activate Card.
    • Set your Card Pin.
    • Please note that you can begin online transactions even before your physical card arrives.

    How do I get cashback on the amaze card?

    You get 1% cashback for transactions processed in any foreign currency (i.e. non-SGD) and 0.5% cashback for SGD transactions made on your amaze card. The cashback is capped at SGD 50 per quarter and is credited by Instarem to your amaze wallet on the 25th of the month after every quarter. For example, for amaze transactions from Jan to March, you will receive the cashback on 25th April.

    Cashback is rewarded on transactions of at least SGD10 (or currency equivalent) and you must spend at least SGD 1,500 (or currency equivalent) for that quarter. Refunds, chargebacks or transactions in selected Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) are excluded from cashback calculations and do not count towards the minimum spend requirement.

    Please note: MCCs are assigned by payment card organisations (e.g.: Visa, MasterCard). Instarem does not have a say in the assignation of these codes. A merchant’s registered MCC may not always correspond with its nature of business.

    How do I use my amaze cashback?

    To use your amaze cashback, simply link your amaze card to your amaze wallet by selecting your amaze wallet as the primary payment source in the app. You can then use your wallet balance including any cashback in the wallet. You can spend up to the balance available in your amaze wallet. For example, if you have SGD 10 in your amaze wallet, you can only make up to SGD 10 worth of transactions.

    Can I use my amaze card overseas?

    The amaze card can be used anywhere that Mastercard is accepted and in their accepted currencies.

    What is the exchange rate offered by amaze?

    Amaze offers competitive FX rates, unlike banks which typically add a substantial markup and FX admin fee. Thus, you get the best possible value for your FX transactions and overseas purchases with amaze.

    What are the spending limits on amaze?

    The maximum amount that can be spent on one receipt with amaze is SGD 50,000 or equivalent. It is also subject to the linked card's respective card issuer limit.

    Does amaze charge FX markup?

    Amaze offers competitive FX rates, unlike banks which typically add a substantial markup and FX admin fee. Thus, you get the best possible value for your FX transactions and overseas purchases with amaze.

    Is there any card annual fee or admin fee for foreign currency transactions?

    There is no annual fee or admin fee involved in using the amaze card.

    Where can I view the exact FX conversion rates and fees at any time?

    Exchange rates and applicable FX fees are available in-app after you initiate a transaction.

    What documents am I required to submit in order to receive my amaze card?

    If you have signed up with Instarem using eKYC (electronic KYC), there are no documents required, as the necessary data is extracted from MyInfo.

    However, for manual KYC (where you have not used MyInfo), you will need to submit Proof of Identity in the form of your passport or national ID, as well as Proof of Address.

    I can't activate my amaze card?

    What type of cards can I link to my amaze card?

    You can link up to 5 Mastercard (debit or credit) cards that have been issued in Singapore.

    Can I send money using amaze?

    You can use your amaze card to make international payments via the credit or debit cards that you have linked to amaze.

    To send money overseas, you can use the Instarem app and transfer money via PayNow or bank transfer.

    What currencies are supported on the amaze card?

    You can transact in any currency and use the amaze card anywhere that Mastercard is accepted, in the currencies that they support.

    Is my data safe with amaze?

    Yes, it is. We are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) as well as with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Rest assured that your data, personal and otherwise, is protected at all times.

    How do refunds work when using amaze?

    The refund will be credited to your original transacted card or your current linked card.

    I have been charged more than once for the same transaction, what do I do?

    At times, merchants process your card payments in a way that creates a duplicate transaction. Merchants will usually refund the duplicate transaction in 5-8 days and the amount will be returned to you automatically.

    If 8 days have passed and the duplicate transaction has not been refunded, you may dispute the payment via amaze on the Instarem app:

    • Open your app and click on the second button (activity icon) on the bottom right.
    • Click on the specific transaction under transaction summary.
    • Click on Report a problem.
    • Alternatively, go to Support in the app to chat with us or email us. Our customer service officer will require you to complete a dispute form and email it to [email protected] within 14 days from the date of the duplicate transaction.
    Will I still earn existing cashback or rewards on my bank card linked to amaze?

    Yes, in addition to our amaze cashback, you will continue to enjoy your existing cashback or rewards awarded by your issuing bank card. However, this is subject to the issuing bank’s Terms and Conditions. You may wish to check with the issuing bank prior to a purchase.

    How can I find out the Merchant Category Code (MCC) of my transaction?

    A Merchant Category Code (MCC) is a four-digit number assigned to a merchant or business by the merchant’s acquiring bank, and amaze does not determine the merchant’s MCC. To find the MCC of your transaction, please check with the merchant or your issuing bank directly.

    How do I recognise amaze transactions on my linked card statement?

    Amaze transactions will start with an AMAZE* prefix. For example, AMAZE* AMAZON.COM.

    How do I protect my amaze card from any potential fraud?

    The safety of your transactions is of utmost importance to us. We ensure that your payments are made to the intended receiver safely, securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements. However, you can follow these tips to further protect your amaze card from fraud:

    • Share your card details: This includes your card number, password, code and PIN. If you need to access your card details to make a payment, go to amaze on the Instarem app, click Card info and copy your card details, or refer to your physical card. Always be sure about who you are paying.
    • Turn on alerts: Keep your mobile number and email address updated by going to My info in your profile on the app, so you receive alerts for every transaction made through amaze. If you suspect somebody is pretending to be us on email, reach out to our customer support team via chat by clicking Ask Adam.
    • Keep a tab on your transaction history: Click on the card icon at the bottom and view your amaze transactions under card activity.
    • Never pay anybody unknown: Scammers can pretend to be government organisations or even your loved ones, so always be alert.
    What do I do if I encounter a suspicious transaction on my amaze card?

    If you find an unknown or suspicious transaction through an email alert or card activity, please lock your card by following these steps:

    • Go to amaze on the Instarem app and click the card icon at the bottom.
    • Click ‘Lock’ on the right. This will prevent any further transactions on your amaze card.

    You may then report the transaction by following these steps:

    • Open your app and click on the second button (activity icon) on the bottom right.
    • Click on the specific transaction under transaction summary.
    • Click on Report a problem.
    • Alternatively, go to Support in the app to chat with us or email us. Our customer service officer will require you to complete a dispute form and email it to [email protected] within 14 days from the date of the unauthorised transaction.
    I have lost my amaze card. What should I do next?

    You can request a replacement and block your existing card, so it does not get misused. Go to amaze on the Instarem app, click the settings icon (Manage) at the top. Click on Replace a card and select the reason as Lost card. Your current card will then be blocked, and you will receive a replacement with new card details almost immediately. Your physical card will arrive in 12-14 days.
